What is NLP?
NLP or Neuro Linguistic Programming came from the observations of
John Grinder and Richard Bandler who studied the best therapists in the USA and other so called “bests” or experts
in sales, education and sports. They discovered the differences that made a difference in being just ok at something and being
the best. They developed Models based on their learnings to teach others how to replicate very skilled people and to get the
same results as they did without many years of practise .
Neuro refers to the mind and its processing through
the senses
Linguistic refers to the language verbal and
non verbal we use
Programming refers to our strategies or habits
that give us what we want without having to think about it.
NLP is sometimes referred to the Art and science of achievement.
It has uses in many fields of practise and is practised in every country in the world now. Its one of the most common words
entered in search engines. There are hundreds of books available on NLP and more being printed as you read this. NLP continues
to spread and grow some 30 years after being developed. There are NLP Practitioners in nearly every country in the world now.
